This tutorial provides a detailed explaination of all of the parts needed to construct the most basic colloidal silver generator possible. The material provided in this entire tutorial provides the means of creating a basic colloidal silver generator that anyone can safely build, with no technical or electronics experience required. Please keep in mind that the basic generator creates a product that is inferior to more advanced production methods. We have found, however, that the basic generator, when the instructions are followed, produces an effective colloidal silver.

Supplies Need to Build the Generator
Four nine volt alkaline batteries are needed to achieve the desired 30 volts of electricity. Although four batteries in series total 36 volts, the drain on the batteries quickly starts to bring the total voltage down. See the advanced basic generator pages for modifications to control the current/voltage output. Also note that three batteries can be used, but for our tutorial, we suggest four.
Two nine-volt battery-to-clamp adapters
and two metal clamps.
One glass production vessel ( 6 - 12 ounces )
Two fine silver rods ( 9 cm rods shown, minimum 14 gauge ) or two strips of 18 gauge fine silver wire. Any silver used must be at least 99.9 percent pure. See our products page for sources.
• One gallon of distilled water ( Walgreens and Arrowhead are two recommended brands )
• A roll of pure white paper towels
• One pure nylon scrub pad ( the green Scotch Brite pads )
• A glass or FDA grade plastic container to store the colloidal silver in ( UV protected glass is recommended )

Should a person just but one for simplicity's sake?

Subject: Collidal Silver
Reg, your information and guidance on the use collidal silver is awesome. I have made and used it for some year's now, but have learned some valuable info from you.
Thank's and please keep up the great post's and information.

if you keep the water very hot. it will speed it up. microwave every 10 mins. or put it on a hot plate and keep just below boiling. dont leave it!!!

Microwave??
There was a study done.. a lady fed two house plants water for a month. One was tap water, the other, microwaved . The tap water plant flourished, the other, died in a month.
II wouldn't consume anything microwaved; especially a medicinal product.

Subject: silver concentration?
When making this colloidal silver solution what is the concentration in ppm? I know this should vary depending on the the time of charging and the amount of voltage. If too little time is used the solution will be too weak and if it is done for too long too strong a solution will be created which is posionous.

Subject: silver
besides using a .999 silver wire would there be any advantage to using silver ingots or coins that are .9999? Or would the size/shape of a coin interfere with the process?

Hi,
I have used both 999 Silver ingots and 999 wires. If there are 999 coins their value may exceed the cost of silver wires.
The surface areas of the electrodes and the distance apart may alter production times but not the quality of the Colloidal Silver.

Subject: Distilled water?
If I may ask you, why do I need distilled water. What happens if I use regular water? Is there a chance how to DIY a distilled water?
Thanx for the advise

You want distilled water because you want no other minerals or potential chemicals in the water. Distilled water is pure H2O and nothing else. Also, the other minerals could affect the conductivity between the two silver rods. Pure water, plus a pinch of sea salt to mildly increase the conductivity (salt-water is much more condusive to the flow of electricity than plain water), ensures that your colloidal silver is pure.

Subject: Re: Distilled water?
The reason for using distilled water, is that if you use regular tap water, the silver particles that are created are much, much bigger, opposed to distilled water, and the bigger particles will stain your skin blue (known as Argyria). So, do not EVER use tap water when making Colloidal Silver. I have been drinking CS for years now, and have no negative side effects from it...so when people say its bad, they either don't know how to make it, or they are ignorant.

Subject: Silver Hardness
Regarding the hardness of the electrodes, do you recommend soft, medium, or hard?
Thanks.

I learned to be a Silversmith. The only use I know of the terms hard medium and soft in Silver is in Silver solders. These are blended metals and are not Sterling Silver 925. The Silver you need for Colloidal Silver is Fine or pure silver 999. Oops. There is another hard silver. It is another mixture used to make Pin Wires. Also annealing the Silver only realigns the molecules. It doesn't change the composition of the silver. Annealed Fine Silver will still be 999 and suitable for use in Colloidal Silver.

Subject: colloidal start
Is there a "start" that I need when I first make my colloidal silver? I have read one place that you use sea salt water in the distilled water to make the colloidal silver. I read another place that you need a start and then you would use 2 to 4 oz of colloidal silver in all the other batches that you make. I have not been able to find the answer to my question. Could you please help me.

If you at salt to the water to increase conductivity, you will also end up with silver chloride. Reading elsewhere on this site, it is mildly poisonous and increases the argyria risk.
Adding a little colloidal silver from a previous batch could work, but make sure it is good and clean otherwise you will contaminate your new batch.
Distilled water is mildly conductive. If you don't use a "starter" it will just take longer to finish the batch. There is nothing wrong with that unless you are under time restraints. Personally, I prefer purity over any rush.
Sometimes,
colloidal silver is not enough. In our research, we successfully addressed
every lung infection we came across by using quality colloidal silver
with a nebulizer ( or oxygen nebulizer ). Provided that the individual
experimenting was able to follow instructions, nebulizing silver proved
to be an amazingly effective protocol.
Then one auspicious day, we came across
a case of chronic bronchitis that failed to completely respond to silver.
To rise to the challenge, we went on a search for the perfect complimentary
therapy. We thus ended up developing the cayenne pepper and colloidal
silver nebulizing protocol ( the cayenne is NOT nebulized ).
